On February 26-27, 2024, in Kyzylorda, in accordance with the Senate’s Plan of Events of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Committee on Agricultural Issues, Nature Management, and Rural Development held an off-site session on the theme “Water Resources: Issues and Prospects for Sustainable Water Supply.” During the session, S.M. Mukataev delivered a report on “The Impact of Eco-Hydrological Parameters of the Syr Darya River Basin on Human Security in the Aral Sea Region.” The session addressed pressing issues related to irrigation water supply, restoration and modernization of irrigation systems, and discussed the Water Code project.
