On March 25-30, 2024, the Executive Directorate of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a working trip to the Kazakh part of the Aral Sea region dedicated to March 26 – the Day of the Aral Sea. During the working trip, representatives of the IFAS Executive Directorate in the Republic of Kazakhstan held a number of events – working meetings with representatives of local executive bodies, non-governmental and public organizations of the Aral and Kazalinsky districts. An eco-campaign for planting seedlings was held in the city of Aralsk on Tolegen Medetbayev Alley.
Based on the results of the working meetings, a project Portfolio was prepared, consisting of 46 projects aimed at the integrated use of water resources, environmental safety and socio-economic development of the Kazakh part of the Aral Sea region. All projects have been coordinated with interested government agencies and are already being worked out with international development partners.
